Surprised by Love
Properly Marketing and Promoting a Book via a Website
At Fresh Impact PR Group, we take a “whole” approach to Public Relations; not relying on only one PR service, i.e. booking interviews, but coordinating multiple PR and marketing services, i.e. website design and content development, book/video trailers, SEO, social networks, online and digital press, etc. to help tell the client’s story.
Surprised by Love by Dr. Jay and Julie Kent-Ferraro is a case-in-point. Recently, our team designed and developed a book microsite for Surprised by Love. The goal was to create a site that includes all the vital coordinates that will successfully market and promote their book launch:
- A book trailer and two other author videos (to view, click on the hyperlink and scroll down)
- The market need and talking points (i.e. how this book is different from the competition)
- A preorder offer for consumers to purchase the book with a bonus gift
- High-profile endorsements from contemporaries
- Press room (talking points, FAQ’s, images, video, media links – all the things press need)
- A blog tied to the brand site
If designed properly, a book website will accomplish a few things: provide publicists and the author with a valuable tool to share with the media to help generate interest and solidify interviews; assist in creating early book buzz with consumers via SEO, social media and viral sharing; and help produce advance book sales.
